WWE's latest Network Special, SummerSlam, takes place at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas, on Sunday. Ahead of the event here are the predictions on what will go down.

WWE Universal champion Brock Lesnar to beat WWE World Heavyweight champion AJ Styles in a champion vs champion non-title match

This has the potential to be Lesnar's best match, in terms of in-ring action, since his clash with Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 31.

Putting the WWE World Heavyweight title on AJ Styles at the expense of Jinder Mahal has transformed the potential for this match.

Styles can bump around the ring for Lesnar, but still have enough believable offence to trouble the WWE Universal champion.

Lesnar will win. That is one of the dead certs of the night as he is not losing a match again before WrestleMania 34.

But Styles can drag a great match out of him. It might even be that the WWE give him an out by having Mahal interfere as a way of setting up their re-match next month.

Team Raw (Kurt Angle, Triple H, Samoa Joe, Finn Balor and Braun Strowman) to beat Team SmackDown (Shane McMahon, Randy Orton, John Cena, Shinsuke Nakamura and Bobby Roode)

This is the most unpredictable matches of the night, with so much star power involved and so many uncertain elements to where this going.

Some predictions for match action

- Samoa Joe and John Cena to clash severely enough to set up a feud going forward

- Shane McMahon to have some kind of crazy move off something high up or through a table

- Jason Jordan to return after being dropped from the team and interfere against his on-screen father Kurt Angle

- Kane to beat down Braun Strowman at some stage in the match

- Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens to attack the SmackDown team

That is a lot of interference and chaos. Picking a winner is hard, but traditionally WWE try and build stars in these matches so having Strowman and Finn Balor be the sole survivors for Raw would not be a bad move.

Both men need momentum, particularly Strowman after his limp title match loss to Lesnar last month.

The Shield to beat New Day in a 3x3 tag match

This should be a match of the night contender. The dominant faction of 2012-14 in the Shield against the group who broke the record as longest tag team holders in New Day.

The Shield should win to keep themselves strong after Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose dropped the tag titles to Cesaro and Sheamus on Raw earlier this month thanks to a distraction from New Day.

This will be a lot of fun, with the set-piece likely to be Big E being triple power-bombed through a table.

The New Day will not be hurt by losing here and the Shield reunion can get a big victory to justify them reuniting.

Charlotte Flair to beat Alexa Bliss in a Women's champion v champion non-title match - Carmella then cashes in on Charlotte to win the SmackDown women's title post-match

The WWE always like a swerve and this could be the big one here.

Flair only just won the SmackDown title from Natalya and she goes up against the other dominant woman on WWE television right now, Raw champion Bliss.

Flair gets the win, but then in revenge Bliss and possibly Nia Jax beat her down post-match, setting up Carmella to come in and cash in and become the first woman to successfully cash in a Money in the Bank briefcase.

The fact Carmella has appeared to ditch James Ellsworth hints WWE have plans for her, and having her do the cash in at one of the biggest events of the year will only add to the prestige of the moment.

The Usos to beat The Bar (Cesaro and Sheamus) in a non-title SmackDown tag team champions v Raw tag team champions match

In terms of work rate this should be very entertaining.

The hard-hitting Cesaro and Sheamus up against the high-flying Usos should be a mix of styles.

Given Raw are getting the upperhand in this writer's opinions in a number of leading matches, this one will go SmackDown's way.

Cesaro and Sheamus can stand to take a loss, and this only add more momentum to the Usos, who have been one of the most improved things on the blue brand this year.

Women's Team Raw (Alicia Fox, Nia Jax, Asuka, Sasha Banks and Bayley) to beat Women's Team SmackDown (Becky Lynch, Naomi, Carmella, Tamina and TBC)

This was a hard one to call initially, but there is little chance of the WWE having Asuka on a losing team so early on to life on the main roster.

The strength is in the Raw team, and even though you can expect a valiant effort from SmackDown captain Lynch, this should with Asuka, and possibly Nia Jax, still standing come the end.

United States champion Baron Corbin to beat Intercontinental champion the Miz in a non-title match

An odd match this one with both men heels with few redeeming features for fans to cheer.

The Miz will probably earn more good will, purely for just how good a performer he is, but he is largely bullet proof in terms of how he remains over no matter how badly booked he is.

Corbin needs big wins and a triumph will give him boasting rights and establish him as one of the top heels on SmackDown going into the New Year.

Enzo Amore to retain the WWE Cruiserweight title against Kalisto

This should be pretty simple. Amore may be irritating on screen and one of the limited workers in the ring, but he is the focal point of the cruiserweight division and there is no way he is dropping the title any time soon.

WWE Survivor Series is on the WWE Network, which is available through OSN, with the action beginning at 2am UAE time.
