Kenya's Stephen Kiprop and Ethiopia's Senbere Teferi were the respective big winners at the RAK Half Marathon on Friday.

Kiprop won the men's race in a time of 58 mins and 42 seconds, while it was Teferi who prevailed in the women's event with a time of 1 hour, 05 mins and 45 secs.

Other notable winners were in the UAE residents and UAE national’s categories, the winner of the male resident category is Tamri Ahmed, and Gerda Steyn won the female category, whereas Mubarak Al Marashda won the UAE national category.

A total of 3,031 runners competed in the event, of which 30 were elite runners.
