Hundreds wade through the mud to compete at Hannibal Race in Lebanon - in pictures

Participants had to run, jump and crawl through a series of obstacles at the course in the district of Batroun in north Beirut

More than 800 people waded through the mud at this year's annual Hannibal Race in Lebanon.

Participants had to run, jump and crawl through a series of obstacles at the course in the district of Batroun in north Beirut.

Race organisers said the courses are designed to "test your mental and emotional fitness and push you pass your limits".
