A test of endurance awaits drivers competing in the Gulf 12-hour race at Yas Marina Circuit on Friday.
The event will feature 26 entries as they go head to head in two six-hour events, across from GT2 to GT4 one-make categories.
Similar to the last Gulf 12 hour-race that took place in January, teams will have just 40 minutes to work on their cars during the break between races.
"The Gulf 12 Hours is fast becoming a highlight of the local motorsport calendar for both local drivers and spectators alike," said Faisal Al Sahlawi, Karting and Yas Racing School Manager, Yas Marina Circuit.
"The race will see local motorsport talent compete against drivers from around the world here on one of the world's finest circuits in a true test of skill and endurance."
Among the teams competing today will be Yas Marina Circuit's own all-Emirati team.
Driving an Aston Martin GT4 will be Saeed Al Mehairi, Hasher Al Maktoum and Abbas Al Alawi will compete in an Aston Marin GT4.
"Not only has the endurance race been extremely popular, it has also been a great platform to develop and showcase local motorsport talent," added Al Sahlawi.
Race 1 begins at 9.30am and will continue through to 3.30pm.
There will be an hour-and-a-half break between races, allowing spectators entry to the pit lane to watch mechanics work on the cars during the break.
Race 2 starts at 5pm and ends at 11pm.
