Two Emirati drivers will be looking to leave Yas Marina tomorrow with titles to their name as the Cytech UAE Championship season draws to a close.

The series, which is heading the support races for the FIA GT1 World Championship, has its final round this weekend, with qualifying taking place today and the race tomorrow.

Karim al Azhari, along with his teammate Fabien Giroix, from France, is all but certain of taking the GTA class, due to a sizeable points lead. If he does it would give him a seventh UAE national racing title.

The winner of the GTB class is not so clear cut though. The advantage is with Mohammed al Mutawaa, the Emirati teenager, who has won five times this season with his Czech teammate Jiri Skula.

But the House of Portier Corvette driver is under pressure from Jon Simmonds in his MSW Porsche, who is partnered with Phil Quaife, and only a win will guarantee al Mutawaa the title.

The GTC series title will also be decided at Yas Marina, with Joe Ghanem or the pairing of Paul Denby and Harris Irfan set to be champion.

Also reaching a finale this weekend is the UAE Touring Car series, in which Khalid bin Hadher could be crowned champion tomorrow.

The Emirati, who has already won nine times, will be guaranteed the title if Andre Ramdhanny, his nearest rival, fails to win both races.

The other action is the UAE Sportscar Championship, which has two races taking place.
