The latest round of the UAE GT championship is the highlight of today's National Race Day action at Dubai Autodrome.
The last round of the championship took place at Yas Marina Circuit in December and the pairing of Karim Al Azhari and Fabien Giroix will be looking to repeat their victory in Abu Dhabi in their House of Portier Corvette with another success today.
Their biggest rivals should be the Bassam Kronfli and Raed Hassan pairing at the wheel of the MSW prepped Ginetta, who have tasted victory once this year, as has Julian Griffin who is always a threat in the NFS Racing Dodge Viper
Mohammed al Mutawaa and Jiri Skula were victorious in the GTB Class last time out and will be looking to make it a second successive triumph.
Al Mutawaa heads the GTB championship standings with three wins to his credit but has Jon Simmonds looming in his mirrors in the MSW Porsche, who he shares with Phil Quaife.
The UAE Touring Cars, UAE Sportbikes and UAE Sportcars are also in action today at the Autodrome.
Khalid bin Hadher in his Seat Cupra has pulled out an impressive lead in Class 1 of the UAE Touring Car Championship, having stood on the top step of the podium six times this season.
Best of the rest so far has been Nader Zuhour in his Seat Supercopa, who has yet to win a race this year, but has had four runner-up finishes which have kept him in the hunt.
Abdulaziz Binladen on a BMW S1000RR has been unbeatable in the UAE Superbikes series and he will be looking to maintain that domination with another pair of victories from the two races.
