Fans who hope to see the UAE football team play in the London 2012 Olympics will be able to buy tickets to each of their three Group A matches Monday.

Organisers for the Games will put on sale Monday 1.4 million tickets to football matches.

They will be available through Ticketmaster (For information on how to buy tickets, see: http://www.tickets.london2012.com/howtobuy.html) from 2pm UAE time until 2am, Monday morning, and also until May 6.

The UAE play Uruguay in Manchester on July 27, Great Britain at Wembley Stadium on July 29 and Senegal at Coventry on August 1.

The UAE are making their first appearance in the Olympic football tournament.

Football tickets start at £20 (Dh120) for adults, with children under 16 able to "pay your age" and the over 60s paying as little as £16 at many matches.

Organisers are confident that the problems which struck the system in January have been solved.

They took the decision to suspend re-sales of unwanted tickets in January after problems with the Ticketmaster computer system.

The technology has been worked on since and tested - the testing process and the staging of test events were the reasons given for the football ticket sale not coinciding with last Tuesday's draw - and organisers say the system can now sell up to 250,000 tickets an hour.

Tickets will be available for all but five matches: Great Britain men v Uruguay, the men's quarter-final and semi-final at Wembley, and the men's and women's final at Wembley.

The other one million Olympic tickets, for non-football events, will go on sale in mid-May together with 100,000 football "contingency" tickets for the high-demand games.
