Nigeria’s Eagles continue to soar high, beat Iran to reach quarters

The Eagles are unstoppable as they march towards the last-eight stage in the UAE.

African champions Nigeria blasted their way into the quarter-finals of the Fifa Under 17 World Cup with a comprehensive victory over Iran at Khalifa bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain.

Nigeria came out blazing and went into the break three goals to the good after first-half strikes from Samuel Okon, Kelechi Iheanacho, who scored his fifth goal in four games, and Musa Mohammed.

Musa Yahaya fired in Nigeria’s fourth on 76 minutes as the three-time winners of the competition took their foot off the gas.

Ali Gholizadeh scored Iran’s consolation goal with six minutes remaining.
