Mercedes' German driver beats McLaren duo Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton in Shanghai.
Nico Rosberg secures maiden F1 victory at Chinese Grand Prix
SHANGHAI // Nico Rosberg cruised to a maiden race victory at the Chinese Grand Prix as he converted his first pole position. The 26-year-old German's triumph handed his Mercedes works team their first grand prix win since 1955.
Second-placed Jenson Button, the McLaren-Mercedes driver who won the season-opening race in Australia last month, past the chequered flag more than 24 second after Rosberg, while teammate Lewis Hamilton took third.
World champion Sebastian Vettel recovered from a disastrous qualifying session to finish fifth for Red Bull Racing, one place behind teammate Mark Webber.
Michael Schumacher, who had joined teammate Rosberg on the front row of the grid, was forced to retire after 13 laps of the 56 scheduled after a wheel-nut problem during his first pit-stop.
