United Bank Limited crashed out of the Dubai Cricket Council Ramadan Cup following their second loss to New Medical Centre in the 25-over-a-side tournament.

Ali Afzal bowled a tidy spell to return with four for 29 from 4.2 overs to skittle out the strong batting line-up of the bankers for 150, in reply to NMC's 178 for seven at the Dubai Men's College Fair Ground Oval.

NMC, electing to bat first after winning the toss, recovered from 24 for three through useful knocks from Mohammed Usman (45), Ahsan Ali (38) and Saqib Ali (35). Ali, the UAE international, is returning from surgery for a slipped disc in his lower back.

Asif Iqbal's all-round efforts for Danube Lions went in vain as his team went down to Yogi Group.

He smashed 103 off 73 deliveries, which was highlighted by nine sixes and three fours, to enable the Lions to post 177 for nine. Iqbal was also the pick of his team's bowling, with three for 33, yet the Yogi batsmen held their nerve to clinch victory by three wickets and three balls to spare.

Abid Choudhury, the Yogi opener, led the run chase with a top score of 63, with Shahzad Manna (42) and Safyan Rahman (31) chipping in with meaningful contributions.

Adil Mirza stroked a breezy half century to steer Phoenix Medicine to a four-wicket win over DCB Kings, and Hazrat Hussain took four for 18 for Seven Seas to register an eight-wicket win over Interface Transworld.
