Mohammed Shehab opens his Asian Snooker Championship run with a 4-2 win over Andy Lee of Hong Kong.

The UAE No 1 Mohammed Shehab recorded an encouraging victory in his opening 2013 Asian Snooker Championship first-round match when he defeated Andy Lee of Hong Kong 4-2 in Karachi.

Shehab has been placed in Group H, which besides Lee also includes the Thai teenager Boonyarit Keatikun, Ahmed Saif of Qatar and Shahid Aftab of the host country.

Meanwhile, the GCC Snooker & Billiard Organization Committee, presided over by the Emirati Sultan Al Joakar, gave the 2013 GCC Snooker Championship to Oman, and the 2013 Arab Pool-Billiard Championship to Dubai in December.
