Manchester United sell Tosic to CSKA Moscow

MANCHESTER, ENGLAND // Manchester United have sold the Serbia winger Zoran Tosic to CSKA Moscow for an undisclosed fee. The English club's website said that Tosic has signed a five-year deal with the Russian team. Tosic, currently on World Cup duty with Serbia, arrived in Manchester from Partizan Belgrade in January 2009. The player received a British work permit after the United manager Sir Alex Ferguson made a personal plea for his case to authorities. However, Tosic made just five appearances as a substitute for United, who loaned him to German side Cologne in January this year, where he stayed until the end of the season. Cologne said earlier this week it could not afford to keep the 23-year-old Tosic. * AP
