League in its second big week

ABU DHABI // Sport is regarded as a factor that balances the body and mind, and junior sport encourages the young to build a healthy mind and body. The Abu Dhabi Primary Schools Football League brings forth a great skill of understanding and love for the game, the spirit of which lies in how one plays the game - the motto of the league chairman Mike Edgar. The league is in its second week and the International School of Choueifat and the Al Raha International share in the boys' under 11 division.

Choueifat beat Abu Dhabi Grammar 3-0 and Al Raha International edged out Pearl Primary 2-1 to take their tallies to six points. Al Khubairat got the better of Al Yasmina 2-0 to move into third. Al Yasmina topped the U9 table with six points. They beat Choueifat 2-0 for their second win. And in the rest of the games Al Khubairat beat Abu Dhabi Grammar 3-1, and Al Raha had mixed fortunes defeating Pearl Primary 2-1 and went down to Al Yasmina 2-0.

In the girls U11, Al Khubairat and Al Yasmina played out a 2-2 draw and Al Raha outplayed GEMS American Academy 2-0. apassela@thenational.ae
