When people think of the NBA, a few things pop in mind: Michael Jordan, Lebron James, and Kobe Bryant. When people think of an NBA team, only one thing pops in their head: the Los Angeles Lakers. The Lakers are the blood flow of the NBA. They have been since the 1950s, and they still are today. People wonder why, well let me give you the inside scoop. Including their stretch as the Minneapolis Lakers, the Lakers have won 14 NBA championships, 29 conference titles, 30 division titles, and have been the stomping grounds for some of the best players to play the game: George Mikan, Jerry West, Elgin Baylor, Wilt Chamberlin, Earvin Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, James Worthy, Shaquille O'Neal, and yes, of course, Bryant. The Lakers have not always been perfect. They have had their dry spells, but what makes the Lakers champions is their drive.
They always pick themselves up from the ashes and find a way. Last season seemed to be a lock, with the late addition of Pau Gasol. The final defeat against the Boston Celtics ended up being one of those situations in which a fan finds themselves baffled beyond words. But, here we are again in the final. And where are the Celtics this year? There would be nothing greater as a Lakers fan, than to see our team avenge the loss to Boston by beating Orlando and lifting the title again.
