BERLIN // Bayern Munich’s Germany midfielder Toni Kroos will stay with the Bavarian giants until at least 2015, despite a reported huge offer from Manchester United, his agent said.

According to British newspaper The Guardian, Premier League giants United are prepared to offer Kroos a contract worth £260,000 per week (315,000 euros, $437,000) for him to play at Old Trafford next season.

That would give Kroos an annual salary of €16 million (), around four times what he earns at Bayern, where he is under contract until June 2015.

But his agent Volker Struth has said Kroos will stay at Bayern until at least the end of his contract.

“There is no official contract offer and there is no need for United to submit one, because Toni will play at FC Bayern until at least 2015,” Struth told German daily Bild.

Kroos could well join the English giants as a free agent when his Bayern deal expires, but Bayern are eager for him to stay in Munich.

Extension talks have stalled with Kroos reported to want his salary tripled to make him one of Bayern’s top earners.

“It depends on Toni, but we want to continue with him here,” Bayern coach Pep Guardiola said.

On Monday, Bayern strengthened their squad by signing defensive midfielder Sebastian Rode from Eintracht Frankfurt on a four-year deal.

While Kroos can play in that position, Guardiola has regularly used him as an attacking midfielder this season.
