Jazira coach Braga wary of RAK threat

Abel Braga, the Al Jazira coach, has urged caution as his side prepare to face first division Ras Al Khamiah in the opening round of the President's Cup at the Al Shaab Stadium in Sharjah.

ABU DHABI // Abel Braga, the Al Jazira coach, has urged caution as his side prepare to face first division Ras Al Khamiah in tonight's opening round of the President's Cup at the Al Shaab Stadium in Sharjah. "This competition provides the smaller clubs with an opportunity to be in the spotlight," the Brazilian said. "We must be careful against such teams. We lost in the semi-finals last season to Al Shabab, who were in the bottom half of the league.

"I have seen Ras Al Khamiah play a couple of times and they are a decent side." The game may come too soon for Sami Rabea, Jazira's new recruit from Al Wasl, to make the starting XI as Braga said: "He has been with us only for a few days and needs more time with the team." Seven Pro League clubs, including Jazira, are in action in the nine games played tonight with five more fixtures taking place tomorrow. All matches in the tournament - open to all Pro League and First Division teams - will be played at neutral venues.
