Indian Premier League: Kings XI Punjab make light work of Pune Warriors

Punjab cruise to eight-wicket victory with just under eight overs left.

Kings XI Punjab thrashed Pune Warriors in one of the most one-sided Indian Premier League games, winning by eight wickets with just under eight overs left.

Punjab's bowlers had ripped through the Pune batting line-up, leaving them five wickets down for 38 runs at the half-way mark.

Pune recovered to post 99, with only four batsman reaching double figures, with Abhishek Nayar top scoring with 25.

Punjab made light work of the chase, despite Angelo Matthews, the Sri Lankan all-rounder, taking the early wicket of Adam Gilchrist for 15.

Manan Vohra (43 off 28) led the way and the by the time a second wicket went down - Mandeep Singh (30) bowled by Rahul Sharma - the finish line was in sight for Punjab. David Hussey hit the winning runs with 46 balls to spare.
