A look at what is at stake at the richest horse racing meeting in the world on Saturday at Meydan

The Dubai World Cup takes place on Saturday at Meydan with a large crowd expected to watch the nine races that will be held.

It is the richest horse racing meeting in the world, with US$35 million (Dh128.5m) at stake.

$12m of that will be at stake in the main event, the Dubai World Cup, with the focus on whether Godolphin's Thunder Snow can become the first horse to win the race twice, having prevailed 12 months ago.

Here is a breakdown of what is at stake in every race.

4.15pm Godolphin Mile - $1.5m

4.50pm Dubai Gold Cup - $1.5m

5.30pm Al Quoz Sprint - $2m

6.05pm UAE Derby - $2.5m

6.40pm Dubai Golden Shaheen - $2.5m

7.20pm Dubai Turf - $6m

8pm Dubai Sheema Classic - $6m

8.40pm - Dubai World Cup - $12m
