Has Roy Keane quit too soon?

The Irishman held crisis talks with Sunderland's board yesterday morning after which it was decided the two parties would go their separate ways. Keane, 37, who was appointed in August 2006, leaves with Sunderland in the English Premier League relegation zone after an awful set of results. He led Sunderland into the Premier League in his first season in charge while his debut year in the top flight resulted in a 15th-placed finish. Keane then embarked on another summer of heavy spending but the new additions, such as Pascal Chimbonda have failed to gel and the situation came to a head in Saturday's dismal 4-1 home thumping by Bolton. Keane becomes the fourth managerial casualty of the season in England's top-flight, following Sam Allardyce (Newcastle), Alan Curbishley (West Ham), Juande Ramos (Tottenham) but with more than half the season still to play, has the player who never said die chucked in the towel too soon?

Have your say!
