European Ryder Cup star Ian Poulter will host a digital coaching clinic for the UAE’s aspiring golfers on Wednesday, as part of his link-up with DP World.

The Englishman, a DP World Tour ambassador, will present a tutorial dedicated to youngsters from the Emirates Golf Federation and Dubai Heights Academy. The clinic, the first in a digital series, will broadcast live from 5pm on Poulter’s Instagram account.

A 12-time winner in the European Tour, Poulter hosted a coaching clinic earlier this year at Jumeirah Golf Estates (JGE) on behalf of DP World. The Dubai ports operator are the title sponsors of the DP World Tour Championship, the season-ending event on the European Tour, which is played each year on the Earth course at JGE.

At present, golf’s two main circuits - the European Tour and the PGA Tour - have shut down because of the coronavirus outbreak, with the former not expected to resume until June 4 and the latter suspended, at the moment, until May 21.

A mainstay of the Ryder Cup since making his debut in 2004, Poulter is hoping to play an integral role at this year's event at Whistling Straits, should it go ahead. He began his 2020 season with a missed cut in Abu Dhabi, but responded with top-20 finishes in both Dubai and Saudi Arabia. He is currently ranked 58th in the world.
