Jon Rahm won the season-ending DP World Tour Championship on Sunday as Tommy Fleetwood secured the Race to Dubai crown ahead of Justin Rose on a dramatic final day at Jumeirah Golf Estates.

Rahm, making his UAE debut, fired a final-round 67 to hit 19-under par and seal the title by one shot from Ireland’s Shane Lowry and Thailand’s Kiradech Aphibarnrat.

It was Rahm's second European Tour victory, coming after July's win at the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open. The Spaniard, who arrived in Dubai as the world No 5, was earlier this week crowned the tour's rookie of the year.

Meanwhile, Fleetwood sealed the Race to Dubai crown despite a final-round 74 and a tied-21st finish. Overnight leader Rose, seeking a second Order of Merit title, birdied the last to come home in 70, although his three bogeys in five holes from the 12th scuppered his chances of becoming European No 1. Eventually, Rose finished in a share of fourth.

Having won January's Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship, Fleetwood had led the seasonal standings for the majority of this year.
