Future at Real is least of coach Pellegrini's worries

According to the speculation, Saturday's 2-0 home defeat to Barcelona in El Clasico looks to have been the final straw for Pellegrini.

Manuel Pellegrini, the Real Madrid coach, says concerns about his future are well down his list of priorities as he tries to get his side back on track against Almeria tonight. Pellegrini has found himself under the spotlight on a number of occasions this season but sections of the Spanish media now believe the Chilean will be gone in the summer - just 12 months after taking up the post. According to the speculation, Saturday's 2-0 home defeat to Barcelona in El Clasico looks to have been the final straw for Pellegrini, and various high-profile managers have been linked as possible replacements for next season.

The loss to Barca left Real three points behind their rivals, before last night's games, at the top of the Primera Liga. With just seven games to go in the season, Real are still in the title race and Pellegrini says it is the match against Almeria he is focused on. "My future is what least concerns me right now. I'm not worried about what will happen. All we must do now is focus on the next seven matches," said Pellegrini.

"Since the start I've always had critics, who've always looked at the negative things. I have one more year on my contract and I hope to complete it." In tonight's other game, Valencia host fourth place-chasing Bilbao. * PA Sport
