Godolphin will stump up £19,500 (Dh111,800) in order to sportingly supplement Farhh in to a mouth-watering clash with Frankel in the Sussex Stakes at Glorious Goodwood.

The lightly raced four year old chased home So You Think at Royal Ascot last month before finding John Gosden's Nathaniel too good in the Eclipse Stakes at Sandown Park two week's ago.

The Dubai-based operation had the choice between running the Daley-bred son of Pivotal against Frankel in two weeks, or waiting until August 12 for the Prix Jacques Le Marois in Deauville.

"I asked Sheikh Mohammed [bin Rashid, Vice President of the UAE and ruler of Dubai] whether he wanted to race Frankel or whether he wanted to run in the Prix Jacques Le Marois and he looked back at me laughing and said: 'What sort of stupid question is that? I want to go to Goodwood," Simon Crisford, Godolphin's racing manager, revealed.

"We are really excited by it and the timing is perfect as it's basically three weeks after Sandown. The horse is doing really well," he added.

"Farhh means 'happy' in Arabic, and he's happy to be going to the Sussex Stakes, although we haven't told him yet that he's taking on Frankel."

Farhh is rated 16lbs shy of the world's highest-rated thoroughbred and Crisford was acutely aware of the task that faces Saeed Bin Suroor's charge.

"From our point of view he still hasn't done enough yet to establish himself as a true Group 1 horse," he said. "He is still on a learning curve."

Frankie Dettori has ridden Farhh on his past two starts and is likely continue that partnership.

Dettori has been suffering a bout of conjunctivitis for nearly a week but should have recovered sufficiently in time to ride by Friday.

The Italian rider appeared on a British racing programme on Saturday sporting dark sunglasses ahead of his five rides on the final day of Newmarket's July festival but has been replaced by Godolphin counterpart Mickael Barzalona on Albayan and Royal Empire, his two rides at Lingfield Park today.

"He's just got a little bit of conjunctivitis but it is getting better," his agent, Ray Cochrane, said.

"He had it all last weekend to be fair, but it is clearing up a bit now. He hopes to be back by Friday but he looks a bit rough at the moment."

Dettori is seeking a fifth victory in the Sussex Stakes, having ridden all three of Saeed bin Suroor's winners of the Group One mile event.

He rode Luca Cumani's Second Set to victory in 1991 before he followed up with Aljabr (1999), Noverre (2001) and Ramonti in 2007 for the Emirati trainer.
