Al Jazira face Qatari club Al Gharafa at Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Monday, as the group stage of this year's Asian Champions League gets under way.

The two sides have been drawn in Group A alongside Al Ahli of Saudi Arabia and Iranian team Tractor Sazi.

Al Jazira are fresh from hosting the Fifa Club World Cup in December, where they impressed before narrowly losing 2-1 to Real Madrid in the semi-finals.

But Henk ten Cate's side haven't been nearly as successful in the Arabian Gulf League during the 2017/18 season.

Al Jazira are fifth in the table, 16 points behind leaders Al Ain, and Ten Cate's team only have a slim mathematical chance of retaining the title they won so convincingly last season.

Al Jazira have failed to progress beyond the group stage in the last two years.
