Vuk Rasovic has been named new manager of Arabian Gulf League club Al Wahda, the club have announced.

The Serb joins the Abu Dhabi club on a two-year deal having previously spent a similar length at AGL rivals Al Dhafra.

The Serb's first assignment is an Asian Champions League game against Iranian side Estghlal on September 14.

Wahda play four matches in 10 days in a packed Group A of the continental championship which resumes after more than six months because of coronavirus pandemic.

They meet the Iranian side again three days later before a meeting with Saudi Arabia's Al Ahli on September 20 and Iraqi club Al Shorta three days later.

All of the matches will be played at the Khalifa International Stadium in Doha.

Ahli lead Group A on goal difference ahead of Wahda with both clubs on four points.

Rasovic, 47, takes over from Dutchman Mark Wotte, the club’s academy head coach, who was appointed to the vacant position at the beginning of the season.
