Manchester City paid Atletico Madrid £40m (Dh 190m) for Sergio Aguero in 2011 - and only after much deliberation. Many in the game thought the fee too high.
Nine years on and that deal can only be described as a bargain. Aguero's hat-trick against Aston Villa made him the most prolific imported striker in Premier League history with 177 goals, as he moved past Thierry Henry and level with Frank Lampard in the hit list.
Only three players - Alan Shearer, Wayne Rooney and Andrew Cole - have more goals on the all-time Premier League charts. Aguero's number of hat-tricks, now 12, is a Premier League record.
Aguero's most famous goal came at the end of his first season, against QPR to win the title. The 31-year-old is the club's record scorer and now needs only one more to reach 250 for the Blues in all competitions.
