It appears the deal taking Everton striker Romelu Lukaku to Manchester United is all but done.

And how should the modern-day footballer announce such news? On social media and accompanied with an elaborate handshake of course!

Lukaku is on holiday in Los Angeles with United midfielder Paul Pogba and the pair were together when news broke of United having a £75 million (Dh355.2m) bid accepted for the Belgium international on Thursday.

Reports earlier on Saturday claimed Chelsea had made a similar bid in the hopes of luring Lukaku back to the club he left in 2014.

However, in an Instagram video posted to Pogba's account, Lukaku can be seen speaking in French to Pogba.

"See you at tomorrow in training," Lukaku says, with United's pre-season tour of the United States starting on Sunday.

"What? Are you serious?" Pogba can be heard replying, to which Lukaku responds: "Yes, training tomorrow."

United had earlier revealed on their Twitter account that a bid had been accepted for Lukaku and the move was subject to passing a medical and agreeing personal terms.

While no official figures have been quoted, media reports claim Lukaku will agree a £250,000 a week contract with United.

Lukaku has established himself as one of the most prolific centre forwards in the Premier League, scoring 85 goals in 186 appearances during loan spells with West Bromwich Albion and Everton before signing for the latter on a permanent basis from Chelsea in 2014.

Chelsea signed Lukaku as an 18-year-old from Belgian side Anderlecht in 2011 but he was limited to just one Premier League start in his time at the London club.
