Zinedine Zidane's side, who are currently in Abu Dhabi preparing for their Fifa Club World Cup semi-final with Al Jazira on Wednesday at Zayed Sports City, were paired with the Ligue 1 leaders in Monday in Nyon, Switzerland.
There was a record five English teams in the last 16, the most from one country still in the tournament at this stage.
Chelsea, the last team from England to win the trophy in 2012, are up against Barcelona, who have won the competition four times in the past 12 years.
Premier League leaders Manchester City have been paired with Basel, Tottenham Hotspur take on Juventus and Liverpool are up against Porto in the other games involving English sides.
Bayern Munich, who are the last time to win the tournament three times in a row between 1974 and 1976, are up against Besiktas, while Shakhtar Donetsk v Roma is the other tie.
First leg ties will be played February 13-14 and February 20-21, with the second legs on March 6-7 and March 13-14
