Raheem Sterling thanks Man City fans in Abu Dhabi ahead of final Premier League matchday
English superstar has enjoyed successful season, scoring 17 goals and 10 assists
Even as Raheem Sterling was preparing for Manchester City's final Premier League against Brighton & Hove Albion today, the English winger took the time to say "thank you" to Abu Dhabi fans.
Sterling has enjoyed a - shall we say - 'sterling' season for the defending champions having scored 17 goals and 10 assists in 2018/19 with one match to go. It is one of the reasons why City have scored a jaw-dropping 91 times in the league, and are just a win away from securing the title two seasons in a row.
Raheem Sterling was recently voted Football Writers' Association Player of the Year after topping the poll of the 400-strong FWA membership as a clear winner, with some 62 per cent of the votes. He was more than 100 ahead of Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk. Sterling's teammate, Sergio Aguero, was in third place.
Meanwhile, Liverpool have to beat Wolverhampton Wanderers at Anfield today and hope City slip up at Brighton for Jurgen Klopp's men to have any chance of lifting the trophy for the first time in 30 years.
All matches start at 6pm (UAE time).
