8.45pm - Closing up shop
Well, that was a mixed bag wasn't it? Everton fans will be delighted with their late work, West Ham will be pleased with their business too, while Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho's bad mood won't have improved with no business appearing to have been done.

The last-gasp transfers are still being announced.
Fulham have bolstered their goalkeeping options by signing Sergio Rico from Sevilla on loan.

8.20pm - Hat-trick for Everton
Fair play to Everton. They have finished with a flurry. Having done no business all day they completed three deals in the last half hour.
Andre Gomes has joined on loan from Barcelona. He arrives after the signings of Yerry Mina and Bernard were done.
The secretary at Everton has clearly had a busy last hour.
The window is now officially shut but there is still a chance of late paperwork being submitted.

8pm - Everton sign Mina
You wait ages for a signing then of course two come at once.
Marco Silva's side have added another name to their squad with the signing of Yerry Mina from Barcelona for a reported fee of €30 million.
Mina will be remembered by England fans as the player who scored Colombia's goal in their 1-1 draw at the World Cup in the second round in June.

7.55pm - Everton leave it late to get Bernard

7.05pm - 55 minutes to go
Fair to say it has not been exactly a manic day of transfer business so far, with most clubs either content with what they have or not convinced by what is available.
At the moment Chelsea, West Ham United, Leicester City and Wolverhampton Wanderers have made acquisitions.
But it is not over yet. Stay tuned!

5.55pm - Wolves make a move
Just over two hours until the transfer window for English clubs to buy players comes to a close.
It has been relatively quiet so far but there is still time for some deals to be done.
Wolves have made their second signing in as many days with the recruitment of Leander Dendoncker from Anderlecht.
The 23-year-old midfielder, who can also play in defence, has joined the club initially on a season-long loan but the move will become permanent next summer.
Dendoncker's arrival follows that of winger Adama Traore, who joined Wolves from Middlesbrough on Wednesday, and could make his debut against Everton on Saturday.

4.55pm - No deals at Tottenham?
Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino says it will be "difficult" to make any signings before the transfer window shuts.
Spurs are the only Premier League club not to make an addition to their squad and Pochettino admits any arrivals are unlikely before the 5pm deadline.
He said: "It will be difficult. It's not over until the game is over but with four hours to go it will be difficult."
4.45pm - Cardiff sign Camarsa
Cardiff have signed Spain Under-21 international Victor Camarasa, the Premier League club have announced.
Camarasa joins from LaLiga club Real Betis and becomes Cardiff's fifth summer signing.
"The 24-year-old central midfielder joins on a season-long loan for the 2018-19 campaign," the Bluebirds announced on the official club website.
Camarasa progressed through the Valencia academy before joining neighbours Levante in 2012, making 65 appearances.
His loan move will last for the entirety of the #Bluebirds’ 2018/19 @premierleague campaign.

3.35pm - Courtois joins Real Madrid
In one of the more predictable deals of the day, Thibaut Courtois's move to Real Madrid from Chelsea has been confirmed.
Courtois had reportedly failed to return to Chelsea for pre-season training this week and had been eager to push through a move to the European champions.
The deal is believed to be worth £31.5 million (Dh149.1m).
It comes after Chelsea signed Kepa Arrizabalaga from Athletic Bilbao for £72.1m, a world-record transfer for a goalkeeper, late on Wednesday night.
2.25pm - Benkovic joins Leicester
Leicester have agreed a deal to sign Dinamo Zagreb defender Filip Benkovic.
The 21-year-old has signed a five-year contract at the King Power Stadium, subject to the deal being given international clearance.
He becomes the sixth new arrival of the summer following the acquisitions of Ricardo Pereira, Jonny Evans, James Maddison, Danny Ward and Rachid Ghezzal.
Leicester boss Claude Puel said: "Filip is an exciting young player who has the potential to develop even more at Leicester City Football Club.

1.45pm - Perez leaves Arsenal for West Ham
West Ham United have confirmed the signing of forward Lucas Perez from Arsenal on a three-year deal.
Perez, 29, joined Arsenal from Deportivo La Coruna in August 2016 and spent last season on loan back at the Spanish club.
The striker said on West Ham's official website: "I'm very excited, as West Ham are giving me the chance to stay in the Premier League and I'm very happy to be part of this new project. I'm very motivated."
1.35pm - Mourinho's concern
Jose Mourinho does not expect anybody to join Manchester United before the transfer deadline.
Last season may have been their highest finish since Sir Alex Ferguson retired, but the 19-point gap to runaway Premier League champions Manchester City underlined the improvements required.
Fred, Diogo Dalot and Lee Grant all arrived at United by early July, but nobody has followed despite Mourinho's explicit desire to bring in two more players.
In late July the Portuguese said he was confident of getting at least one more signing through the door, but hopes have faded as Thursday's 5pm deadline edged closer.
"I am not confident," Mourinho said of United's chance of new signings ahead of Friday's Premier League opener against Leicester.
"I am not confident, and the market closes today, so it's time, at least for me, to stop thinking about the market because the market will be closed.
1.30pm - Chelsea sign Kovacic on loan from Real Madrid
Croatia international Mateo Kovacic has joined Chelsea on a season-long loan from Real Madrid.
The Blues announced the deal on Wednesday, contingent on Thibaut Courtois' move to Real.
And Chelsea confirmed Kovacic had completed his move to Stamford Bridge on Thursday.
The 24-year-old former Dinamo Zagreb and Inter Milan midfielder said on Chelsea's official website: "I am really happy and excited to be here at Chelsea. It is an amazing feeling. I will try to do my best for this club.
"It is a new league for me, the beginning is always tough but I am sure the coach and my new team-mates will help me and I am looking forward to a great season."
Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia added: "We are very happy to welcome Mateo to the Chelsea family. He is a perfect fit for us this season, his style is well suited to how Maurizio (Sarri, the head coach) wants to play and we are sure he will prove to be a valuable asset for the club."
12.50pm - Arrizabalaga wants to win a lot of titles with Chelsea
Kepa Arrizabalaga is targeting sustained success with Chelsea after moving to Stamford Bridge for a world record fee for a goalkeeper.
The 23-year-old joined from Athletic Bilbao for £72.1 million (Dh341m) on Wednesday after Chelsea met his buyout clause. Kepa could make his debut in Saturday's Premier League clash at Huddersfield.
The recruitment of the Spain international on a seven-year contract allows Thibaut Courtois to depart for Real Madrid, with the Belgian keeper set to be unveiled later on Thursday.
Kepa told Chelsea's official app, The 5th Stand, on Thursday: "All clubs need to fight to win titles and what all players want is to win. So what I would like is to win more titles for the club.
"This is what I aspire to do. I would like to be remembered at this club when I leave years down the line as a goalkeeper that has helped the club win a lot of titles and gone down in history in that way."
11.50am - Manchester City sign Arzani
Manchester City had not been expected to do any business on deadline day, given the quality already in their ranks.
But the Premier League champions have signed Australian Daniel Arzani from Melbourne City.
Midfielder Arzani featured in the World Cup for Australia, playing in the final group game against eventual champions France.
"Manchester City are now exploring a development pathway for Arzani, and a further announcement regarding a loan to progress his career will be made in the coming days," City said.

11am - Sanchez wants big names at Manchester United
So far so quiet, but with England three hours behind time wise the day is only just getting going over there, so plenty of time for those deals to happen.
One man who expects his club to do business is Alexis Sanchez. The Manchester United forward, who joined the club in January, thinks his bosses need to think big.
United are under pressure after five seasons without a league title and have only added Brazilian midfielder Fred, Portuguese defender Diogo Dalot and goalkeeper Lee Grant to their squad in the close season.
"At United we have to sign big players, with experience," Sanchez told Sky Sports.
The Chilean international cited Spanish side Barcelona who signed Vidal from Bayern Munich in the close season.
"He is a great player and my team mate from Chile. He is an example of the type of players we need to sign to win trophies and compete at the highest level," Sanchez said.
Don't forget you can find a full list of who has been signed by who in the Premier League here.
8.50am - The final countdown is here
So, here we are. The final day that English clubs can make transfers and bring players in until January.
The cut off point is 5pm UK time, 8pm UAE time, after which each side will have to work with what they have for the first four months of the campaign.
Chelsea have got the ball rolling after on Wednesday night completing the £72.1 million (Dh341m) signing of goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga from Athletic Bilbao, a record fee for a goalkeeper.
We are expecting Manchester United to do business as Jose Mourinho has made it very clear he is desperate to bolster his squad, particularly in defence.
Tottenham Hotspur have done no deals at all this summer, so what will they do? Trust in what they have got, or add some depth.
Stay with The National throughout the day for updates.
