After Manchester City's 3-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday, Pep Guardiola said he would be playing golf instead of watching Manchester United's match against West Bromwich Albion on Sunday.

The City manager stayed true to his word, taking to the course at Sandiway Golf Club in Cheshire with his son Marcus and club pro Gareth Jones. The four-ball was completed by none other than golf's world No 12 Tommy Fleetwood.

Fleetwood, who in January defended his Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship, presented by EGA title, was last in action at Augusta National where he finished tied-17th at the US Masters.

A video was also posted to Guardiola's official Instagram account of Fleetwood, the reigning Race to Dubai champion, hitting a drive in slow-motion.

While Guardiola was out on the course, United suffered a surprise defeat to bottom-of-the-league West Brom that confirmed City as champions with five games of the season remaining.

City have lost just twice during the current campaign and compiled a record-breaking 18 consecutive victories en route to clinching the title.

City also won the League Cup in February, defeating Arsenal in the final.
