Mohamed Salah makes history for Egypt as Liverpool win Champions League - in pictures
Scores penalty as Divock Origi also nets in Madrid
Mohamed Salah made history on Saturday as he helped Liverpool win their sixth European Cup as they beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 in the Uefa Champions League final.
The 26 year old became the first Egyptian to score in the showpiece event of Europe's top club competition, scoring a second-minute penalty to put Liverpool ahead in their match against fellow Premier League opponents.
It was also the second-fastest goal in an European Cup final, the strike being timed at 108 seconds.
The result made up for last year's disappointment when Salah went off injured after 30 minutes with a shoulder injury as Liverpool lost 3-1 to Real Madrid in Kiev.
Salah summed up his emotions on social media. In an Instagram post with a picture of him with the trophy he wrote: "Believe, work hard and it'll happen."
