Mohamed Salah and Jamie Vardy straight back in goals groove, Jose Mourinho moaning already: Premier League week 1

The English top-flight has returned – we take a look at who did what

The Premier League was back this week, just 48 days after the last one finished.

After last season's pause due to the coronavirus and the resulting late finish to the campaign, the great and the good of the English top-flight found themselves back in action in double-quick time.

Saturday's opening round of games saw Arsenal, Crystal Palace, champions Liverpool and Newcastle United all record victories, over Fulham, Crystal Palace, Leeds and West Ham, respectively.

On Sunday, Leicester ran out convincing winners at West Bromwich Albion, while Everton sealed a deserved three points at Tottenham.

Monday saw Wolves and Chelsea start with a bang after defeating Sheffield United and Brighton, respectively.

We take a match-by-match look at the opening round of fixtures in the above gallery. To view the next image, click on the arrows or swipe if on a mobile device.
