Manchester United have an unrivalled record when it comes to nurturing their own youngsters and turning them into superstars.
Sunday’s match against Everton will be the 4,000th consecutive game in which an academy graduate has featured in United’s first-team squad.
The record stretches back to before the Second World War, and there have been 10 first-team debuts for academy graduates this season alone.
The academy has produced United legends such as Bobby Charlton, Nobby Stiles, George Best, Ryan Giggs, Gary Neville, David Beckham and Paul Scholes.
Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard, Andreas Pereira and Marcus Rashford are the newer recruits as United maintain those strong traditions.
Some players remained at the club for years, while others moved on.
