Manchester United will take on Club Brugge in the last 32 of the Europa League while struggling Arsenal will face Greek side Olympiakos following Monday’s draw in Nyon.
United, who won the competition under Jose Mourinho in 2017, travel to Belgium for the first leg on February 20 before returning to Old Trafford a week later.
Arsenal are languishing ninth in the Premier League after sacking Unai Emery - a three-time Europa League winner with Spanish club Sevilla - but finished top of their group in Europe and are also away in the first leg.
“It’s a big challenge for us to play against Arsenal, last year’s Uefa Europa League finalists,” Olympiakos coach Pedro
Martins said.
“They may not have started well in the Premier League this season, but they have great players, are dangerous and deserve our respect.”
Ajax were drawn with Spanish outfit Getafe following their surprise exit from the group stage of the Champions League.
“We’ve not had a lot of luck in the draw,” Getafe’s sporting director Angel Martin Gonzales said.
“They’re a big side but that helps us grow, too.”
Serie A leaders Inter Milan travel to Ludogorets. Antonio Conte’s side will be among the favourites for the competition alongside last season’s Champions League semi-finalists Ajax after failing to get past Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund in Europe’s top competition.
Two other clubs who failed to progress to the Champions League knockout rounds face off with Benfica up against Shakhtar Donetsk. Roma play Gent while former European champions Porto face Bayer Leverkusen, one of three German clubs in the draw.
Sevilla travel to Romanian side Cluj with the five-time winners riding high in La Liga, while fellow Spaniards Espanyol travel to Wolverhampton Wanderers, who are enjoying their first European campaign in nearly four decades.
It will be Wolves’ first clash with a Spanish club since losing 9-2 on aggregate to Barcelona in the 1959/60 European Cup quarter-finals.
Eintracht Frankfurt face Champions League drop-outs Salzburg while Wolfsburg take on Malmo.
Scotland’s former European champions Celtic are up against Copenhagen while Rangers face Portuguese club Braga.
Sporting Club of Lisbon take on Turkish side Istanbul Basaksehir and Cyrpiot side APOEL welcome Swiss club Basel.
