Ben Foster was quick to apologise to his Watford teammates following his error that led to Arsenal's goal in their Premier League match at Vicarage Road on Monday.
The Watford goalkeeper's attempted clearance succeeded only in cannoning off Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for the only goal of the game, prompting the former England goalkeeper to remark: "I am definitely not a modern goalie. They can't score from row Z."
Foster isn't the first and certainly won't be the last goalkeeper to fancy himself an as outfield player. Thankfully for him, in the close-knit goalkeeping fraternity, he has plenty of company in the howlers department.
