Lionel Messi, Gerard Pique and Marc Overmars were among the present and past stars of Barcelona to attend the opening of the Johan Cruyff Stadium on Tuesday night.
The stadium will play host to Barca B and the club's women's teams, as well as the Under 19 side, who will play in European competitions.
Cruyff shone as a player for the club between 1973 and 1978, then as manager between 1988 to 1996.
His family, including son Jordi, were in attendance at the event for the opening of the 6,000-capacity facility.
The event was followed by a match between Barcelona and Ajax Under 19s, the Dutch side having been the scene of some of Cruyff's finest domestic moments between 1964 and 1973.
Ajax won the game 2-0 thanks to two goals from Naci Unuvar.
