Celebrations have a habit of coming back to haunt athletes and Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland is the latest to receive such treatment.
Haaland, 19, scored twice in the 2-1 win for Dortmund over Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League last 16, second leg last month, and after scoring the first, the Norwegian striker celebrated by sitting in a meditation pose.
However, after PSG responded with a 2-0 win in Paris to reach the Champions League quarter-finals on Wednesday night, a number of their players appeared to mock Haaland by replicating the pose on the Parc des Princes turf.
They didn't stop there, though, as PSG striker Kylian Mbappe later uploaded a video to his Instagram account of the players celebrating in the dressing room by sitting on the floor and striking the pose again.
PSG forward Neymar also poked fun at Haaland with his own Instagram post, uploading a photo of himself in the meditation pose with the caption: "Paris our city, not yours", thought to be in response to Haaland's post on Snap Chat on Tuesday when he included the caption "My city, not yours" above a Paris scribble.
PSG's win over Dortmund was played inside an empty stadium as French authorities imposed measures to limit the spread of the coronavirus. However, that did not stop thousands of supporters gathering outside the Parc des Princes and they were joined in celebration by the players who emerged from the top tier of the stadium to unite with the fans.
