Harry Kane, Calvin Harris, and Dua Lipa strike up unlikely World Cup bond
Kane was asked to pick a song after his World Cup hat-trick against Panama and the pop stars were chuffed with his choice
Harry Kane isn't a footballer you'd expect to be mixing with celebrities on social media.
The England striker and captain, who banged in a hat-trick in his side's 6-1 victory over Panama on Sunday, is known to shun the glitzy lifestyle and drama that his earnings can afford him.
He has however struck up an overnight bond with pop stars Calvin Harris and Dua Lipa.
Kane, who scored two penalties in yesterday's victory, was put on the spot again in a post-match interview when he was asked to pick a song to play on a Brazilian programme, and his response was: "I'll go 'One Kiss' by Calvin Harris and Dua Lipa."
Both Harris, who is Scottish, and Dua Lipa, who is British, were quick to voice their approval of Kane's song choice.
Harris tweeted to his 13.3 million followers: "Yes I'm Scottish but I don't care the legend Harry Kane picked our song hahahahaha."
Dua Lipa meanwhile retweeted Harris's tweet and then added one of her own, telling her 2.28 million fans that Kane is "a legend".
England have now qualified for the last 16 of the World Cup having taken maximum points from their two matches.
Kane is currently the top scorer in the tournament having plundered five goals in the opening two matches, though he can expect to face stiff competition for the golden boot from Belgium's Romelu Lukaku and Portugal's Cristiano Ronaldo who have both netted four.
Kane tweeted a picture with his England teammates aboard their aircraft following his first World Cup hat-trick.
