Manchester City midfielder Fabian Delph is on the verge of signing for Premier League rivals Everton, according to a report.

The 29-year-old England international, who had 12 months remaining on his contract, is set to agree an £8.5 million (Dh39m) switch to Goodison Park, Press Association Sport reported Saturday, that could rise to £10m in certain criteria is met.

Should personal terms be agreed, it would bring an end to Delph's four-year stay at the Etihad Stadium.

Delph has found himself largely a bit-part player since joining from Aston Villa in 2015, making 89 appearances in all competitions and scoring five goals.

He made only 11 appearances under Pep Guardiola last season as City clinched the Premier League, League Cup and FA Cup and with the arrival of record signing Rodri from Atletico Madrid this summer would have been even further down the pecking order for midfield positions.

The former Leeds United player Delph started for England in their Nations League Finals games against Netherlands and Switzerland in June, winning his 20th cap in the penalty shootout win against the Swiss.

Delph's arrival would take Everton's number of summer signings to three, with goalkeeper Jonas Lossl having joined from Huddersfield Town and Andre Gomes' loan move from Barcelona made permanent in a £22m deal.
