The opening of the January transfer window has already seen a flurry of activity, most notably from Liverpool who welcomed Virgil van Dijk in a record deal for a defender while waving goodbye to Philippe Coutinho with the Brazilian finally joining Barcelona.

Chelsea have also been swift to move, landing Ross Barkley from Everton four months after the midfielder initially turned down a move to the Premier League champions.

Arsene Wenger faces more questions at Arsenal after their exit from the FA Cup third round, while the futures of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil are no closer to being resolved.

In this week's Extra Time podcast, Jon Turner, Steve Luckings and Graham Caygill discuss all the big developments from the Premier League and the FA Cup third round.
