Football fans without tickets for the World Cup in Russia are in luck.

An extra 100,000 tickets have been released by Fifa to be sold to the public for the tournament.

They were initially reserved for Fifa constituent groups but will now be available to be purchased from midnight on Friday evening at Fifa.com/tickets.

Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served, basis. The news of the extra availability did not make clear which games the tickets are for.

The tournament starts on Thursday as tournament hosts Russia go up against Saudi Arabia in Group A. The competition runs until Sunday June 15.
