Following the weekend's announcement that former Bayern Munich winger Arjen Robben is seeking to make a professional comeback with hometown club Groningen, we've dug into the archives to look at other players who reversed their decisions to stay retired.

Robben, 36, who also starred for PSV Eindhoven, Chelsea, Real Madrid and made almost 100 appearances for the Dutch national team, made his professional debut at the mid-table Eredivisie club in 2000 aged 16.

He said he was unsure if he would be offered a contract, but that his motivation "will be at 100 per cent".
