Algeria and Riyad Mahrez train in Cairo ahead of bid to make history in Afcon final - in pictures
Aiming to win the tournament for the first time on foreign soil when they face Senegal
Riyad Mahrez and Algeria trained for the last time on Thursday evening in Cairo before they bid to make history at the Africa Cup of Nations final on Friday.
Algeria have never won the tournament on overseas soil, with their sole success coming in March 1990 when they defeated Nigeria 1-0 in the final in Algiers.
A good omen for the Algerians is that they have triumphed over Nigeria in this year's tournament, prevailing in the semi-final 2-1 thanks to Manchester City forward Mahrez's stoppage-time winner.
Algeria manager Djamel Belmadi put his side through their paces on Thursday as they prepare to face Senegal.
Another reason for Algeria to be optimistic is they have already got one over on Senegal during the competition.
They beat them in their Group C clash on June 27, with Youcef Belaili's goal four minutes after half time proving to be the lone strike in the game in Cairo.
Senegal though have bounced back and won every game since then, defeating Tunisia 1-0 in the semi-finals.
Friday's final is at the Cairo International Stadium and kicks off at 11pm UAE time.
