When Sven Goran Eriksson arrived at Notts County in July it was supposed to herald a bright new era for the club, with the former England coach was brought in by Munto Finance as part of plans to rise from League Two, the fourth division of English football, to the Premier League. Promises were unfulfilled, the owners have now gone and Eriksson, the director of football, has spent more time trying to find investors to keep the club afloat rather than help plot the downfall of Wigan today at Meadow Lane. Ludo Mobil, a Scandinavian telecommunications company, are interested. The County centre-back Graeme Lee said: "We are desperate for Sven to stay and hope something will happen soon.
"The question everyone asks me is not about the owners, but what's Sven like? He doesn't do the coaching, but watches the training sessions. "Sven could have gone when things first started to go wrong, but he has shown his commitment to this project.." A home victory over Premier League Wigan would no doubt help with the hard sell and avoid them going into administration. Lee, who arrived just before Eriksson, added: "A cup run would give everyone a massive lift. We know it's a difficult tie, but the pressure is all on Wigan.
"It's been a rollercoaster ride since I came here so you never know what will happen. "Some things have changed because of the finances: we flew down to a game at Bournemouth. I don't think that will happen again." @Email:akhan@thenational.ae
