// Nico Rosberg edged his Mercedes teammate Lewis Hamilton for the second straight race and tightened the Formula One drivers' championship race to a gap of just two points on Sunday with a win at the Italian Grand Prix.

Seeking a third straight victory at Monza, F1 championship leader Hamilton had a slow getaway from pole position at the start and fell back to sixth.

German rival Rosberg took advantage and dominated as he won in Italy for the first time in his career, while Hamilton fought back to take second spot ahead of the Ferrari pair of Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen.

Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo, third in the drivers' standings, started sixth and skilfully overtook Valtteri Bottas late in the race to claim fifth.
