Godolphin hopes that Energizer can develop into an international flag-bearer in the big Group 1 European Turf races next year.
The Dubai-based operation bought the German-bred three year old after the son of Monsun became the first German horse to win at Royal Ascot in June.
Energizer was previously fourth in the German 2,000 Guineas and will face five rivals in Wednesday's Group 2 Great Voltigeur Stakes at York, including stablemate Encke.
"He ran really well at Royal Ascot and looked like the sort of horse that would improve and a lot of these German horses are late developers," Simon Crisford, Godolphin's racing manager, said of Mahmood Al Zarooni's charge. "Pretty much we bought him so he'd be an international horse for us next year. He wouldn't be a Dubai World Cup horse, but more a European Group 1 performer over a mile and a half."
Encke could not quite reel in Noble Mission in the Gordon Stakes at Glorious Goodwood last month and eventually went down by a nose, but Crisford is expecting to turn the tables on a more conventional track.
"Enke will run a big race and he ran a great race at Goodwood," Crisford added. "I think we can get one over our old rival. His lack of experience found him out at Goodwood. It struck me having watched the replay several times that next time round we can beat him."
Frankel, Noble Mission's brother, will also be running at York on Wednesday and was declared yesterday alongside eight others for the Juddmonte International Stakes.
The Group 1 contest provides the stage for Frankel to make his debut over ten furlongs and the unbeaten colt will face St Nicholas Abbey, who was second behind Cirrus Des Aigles in the Dubai Sheema Classic in March.
Twice Over, the dual Dubai World Cup runner, has also been declared alongside Bullet Train, Sir Henry Cecil's third runner and regular pacemaker for Frankel.
The field is completed by Godolphin's Farhh, Planteur, trained by Marco Botti, as well as Sri Putra, and two pacemakers for St Nicholas Abbey in the shape of Windsor Palace and Robin Hood. Cecil is planning to make a welcome return to the racecourse in order to see Frankel compete on Wednesday.
The celebrated trainer, who has been receiving ongoing treatment for cancer, has not wanted to pick up other infections, and missed the unbeaten superstar's most recent victory in the Sussex Stakes at Glorious Goodwood.
Cecil said: "Although I have had some medical treatment recently and not been racing because my immune system is low, I have been able to work from home.
"I am very hopeful that I will be able to make it to York on Wednesday to saddle my horses. I just cannot miss the day."
