Al Nasr v Al Shaab

Al Nasr are confident they will bolster their defensive ranks during this transfer window.

The Dubai club, who tonight face Al Shaab in the Etisalat Cup, have already signed Takayuki Morimoto, above, the Japanese striker, from Italian Serie A side Catania.

"There are some ongoing negotiations with local players within the UAE," said Ahmed Khouri, vice president of Al Nasr Sports Club and Football Company.

"We're trying to come up with some quality players for the next term of the league. Nothing has been completed yet, but hopefully within the next couple of weeks we'll try to close some deals."

Al Wasl v Al Jazira

Al Wasl will attempt to get their season back on track tonight when they host Al Jazira in the Etisalat Cup.

Times have been difficult of late at the Zabeel Stadium, with the club winning only two of their past nine Pro League matches.

However, despite last month's home defeat to Kalba, the cup has offered a little respite as Wasl currently sit one point off the top of Group B.

This evening's encounter with Jazira will test their resources, though, as Wasl continue to struggle in the absence of Mariano Donda, their gifted playmaker, who could miss the rest of the season through injury.
