Watch: India pacer Jasprit Bumrah continues rehabilitation following back injury
Ace pacer had suffered stress fracture in his lower back in September
Here is some news that will be music to the ears of Indian cricket fans. Fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has started rehabilitation work following his back injury and judging by the intensity of his workouts, seems determined to make a comeback as soon as possible.
Bumrah had suffered stress fracture in his lower back in September which ruled him out of the home series against South Africa and Bangladesh. While India's experienced pace attack of Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Shami and Umesh Yadav more than made up for his absence, Bumrah remains the No1 fast bowler in the country.
Bumrah traveled to the UK in October to consult specialists. He managed to avoid surgery, which would have ruled him out for many months.
The right arm quick started his rehabilitation work late last month and has been posting images and videos of it.
On Monday, Bumrah uploaded a video of his gym workout, which included an intense routine with a medicine ball.
Last week, he posted a picture of a broken stump from one of his bowling sessions. Judging by the posts, it looks like Bumrah is gearing up towards an early return.
India bowling coach Bharat Arun had earlier said that the team management is hoping to have Bumrah in the side for the tour of New Zealand which begins at the end of January.
