T10 League: Amir Yamin and Jason Roy give Bengal Tigers winning start
Seamer Yamin takes four wickets after opener Roy scores unbeaten 60 in 36-run victory over Northern Warriors
Amir Yamin took four wickets in four balls to wrap up a resounding 36-run win for Bengal Tigers over Northern Warriors in the T10 League.
The Pakistani all-rounder dismissed Nicolas Pooran, Rovman Powell, Ravi Bopara and Hardus Viljoen with the first four balls of his second over.
It was a dramatic way to end what was otherwise a routine win for Bengal, after they had racked up 130-1 from their 10 overs.
Jason Roy hit an unbeaten 60 on debut for Bengal Tigers to set them on their way.
The England opener had been playing four-day cricket in Abu Dhabi against Pakistan A until Wednesday.
He quickly adapted to life in cricket’s frenetic new format after driving up the coast to Sharjah.
He and Sherfane Rutherford razed the Warriors bowling attack, for whom Imran Haider, the UAE leg-spinner, was just an interested observer as he was not given a bowl.
Rutherford was also not out at the end, having made 47 from 21 balls.
